I am a HUGE Garnier fan, I’ve been using the Sleek & Shine line for years. I have always received compliments on the health of my hair, to the point that my hair dresser simply refuses to trim my hair because there aren’t any split ends… 🙂
All this to say, while I was a little reluctant to try the Blow-Dry Perfection, my hesitation drifted as the summer humidity and heat was making my morning blow-drying routine near-to-impossible to accomplish.
Enter our victim… the culprit is a 2-step system designed to leave your hair “frizz-free for up to 7 washes, making blow-drying and styling a breeze.”
So why spend 200$ at a salon for a straightening serum when you can get it at the drug store for less than 8$?
Down to the nitty-gritty details:
Even though the instructions warn of an odor from its first step, for the life of me, there is nothing that I can describe to you that would make you understand the wretchedness of the smell. IT WAS DISGUSTINGLY AWFUL! I’m crying just thinking about it. If I wasn’t so curious as to know the end result, I would have washed it right then and there. By the way, you have to take two showers to make these two steps possible: 20-minutes worth of non-shower time to leave in Step 1 before you have to get back into the shower to wash it off.
I digress, after ridding myself of the retched stench of hair-killer, I stepped out of the shower very eager for Step 2. As blow-drying is the “activator”, what usually takes me on average 15-20 minutes to blow dry my hair, took me almost an hour. AN HOUR!!
I was so anxious to see the results of the next wash/blow-dry. Remember, its supposed to last up to 7 washes)!!
Onto Wash #2… where it was supposed to be a “breeze” to blow dry my hair, and leave it “frizz-free”, it was the exact opposite of such a claim. It still took 30 minutes to blow dry, again more than my average, non-treated blow-dry time, and it definitely did not help with the frizz.
I can literally say that I have thrown my money in the garbage with this insane product. I will only recommend this to enemies. I cannot brag enough about the rest of the Fructis line, but a HEAVY warning with this one particular item: STAY AWAY.
