In winter, we do not often pay as much attention to our skin as we would in the summer. But it’s very important to maintain a hydrated system. Elbows and knees especially. Some people have absolutely resilient skin, and can take any fight. Some however need a little help.
Discolored elbows are frequent, and the winter blues only make the dryness and color worse. Here are a few very simple steps to maintaining beautiful elbows, and the same can be applied to knees as well.
- Moisturize. Daily. Use a 24-hour Intensive Relief moisturizer so you do not wind up reapplying every 4-6 hours.
- Exfoliate. Weekly. Massage a gentle exfoliant onto your elbows or knees, work in circular motion to release and remove some dead skin cells.
- Lemon Bath. Weekly. Lemon juice is very effective for lightning dark pigmented-skin. Use this method sparringly. Bathe your elbows in a 1/2 cup of lemon juice for 10 minutes and wash off with luke-warm water.
